1 GPS INFORMATION SERVICE

The use of GPS instrument flight procedures requires integrity monitoring of the satellites. Receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) is performed using additional satellite as a reference. Since ephemeris data of the satellites is available, availability of RAIM can be predicted for specific location and time.
GPS Information Service is producing information of availability of RAIM. If RAIM non-availability is predicted for an aerodrome having published GPS procedure, a NOTAM shall be issued. The NOTAM contains the time span(s) during which GPS receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) will not be available at an aerodrome.
Note: A NOTAM will be published, if the GPS Information Service is not available due to e.g. technical reasons.

2 EGNOS NOTAM SERVICE

EGNOS NOTAM service is provided for each airport having RNP approach to LPV or LNAV/VNAV minima in use. In Finland, EGNOS NOTAM service is based on predicted APV-I service outages at the given airport. In case of predicted APV-I outage, a NOTAM, valid for the time window of the predicted outage, is issued. Pilots and operators using an SBAS receiver must take predicted APV-I outages into account in preflight planning.
